The Board of Auctioneers Examiners is in place to assess applicants for a licence to act as auctioneers. Following the interviews, the board shall inform the Commerce Department of its decision to issue a licence in case of approval or submit a refusal notice as appropriate.

Copyright Board
The Copyright Board, established pursuant to Article 45 of the Copyright Act, has the authority to approve requests for the establishment and operation of Collecting Societies in Malta, to approve the fees charged and any revision thereof, as well as to revoke any authorisation to act as a Collecting Society.
Following the enactment of new copyright legislation (Act No XIII of 2000) which entered into force on 14 August 2000 – with the exception of Section XI on Collecting Societies which became effective from 1 January 2001 – the Copyright Board, was reconstituted in accordance with Article 45(2) and (3) of Section X on the Copyright Board to regulate the following:
- Authorisation of Collecting Societies
- Establishment and incorporation of Collecting Societies
- Functions of Collecting Societies
- Working Methods for Collecting Societies

Licensing Appeals Board
The Trade Licensing Appeals Board was set up to hear appeals from decisions by the Trade Licensing Section and Local Councils under the Trade Licensing Act.
The board is competent to hear complaints from all those who claim that they have been unfairly refused a trading licence or by other decisions and/or any other matter relating to the pursuit of any commercial activity.
