Awards Ceremony
The main objective of the Malta Innovation Awards, is
that of encouraging the development of innovative ideas and products which have
potential, are unique and sustainable.
The 7th edition of the
Malta Innovation Awards for 2016, organised by the Commerce Department, within the Ministry for the Economy, Investment
and Small Business, was held on the 26th April 2017, during
which the finalists in the respective categories were announced, and each
awarded a Trophy and Monetary Prize:
Award for Creative Innovation
Winner: Guerrilla
represented by Mr. Samuel Sultana, Mr. Kris Camilleri – ‘Our story: Valletta’
Runner up: Mr. Gordon
Pace, Mr Mark Scicluna – ‘Politicks: The
Card Game’
Award for Scientific Innovation
Winner: Dr. Tracey
Camilleri, Mr. Nathaniel Barbara, Prof. Kenneth Camilleri (all obo The
Department of Systems and Control Engineering, University of Malta) –
‘EyeControl’
Runner up: Prof. Ing.
David Zammit Mangion, Dr Jason Gauci (both obo The Institute of Aerospace
Technologies, University of Malta), Captain Alan Muscat, Captain Joseph Markham
(both obo QuAero Ltd) – ‘Touch-Flight – a modern control console for the next
generation commercial aircraft’

behalf of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) as
